Gleis 21 in Kooperation mit dem Interkulturellen Frauenverein Mosaic
Wir möchten zu einem gemeinsamen Abendessen einladen, bei dem die dem Menschen ursprünglichen, gemeinschaftsbildenden Rituale in der Stadt wiederbelebt werden. Orwa Saleh, Danial Moazeni, und Vasco Atanasovski begleiten uns mit ihren Klängen durch den Abend.
Dein Fado-Besuch ermöglicht Kindern Bildung! Fado unterstützt eine Schule in einem libanesischen Flüchtlingscamp. Weitere Infos zur Schule: Drei syrische Frauen setzen sich in einem Flüchtlingscamp im Libanon für das Recht auf Bildung für Kinder ein: Mit ihrer eigens gegründeten Schule durub/pathways sorgen sie dafür, dass die Kinder in ihrem Camp alphabetisiert werden und täglich zum Unterricht gehen können. Nun wurde die Finanzierung für das Schulprojekt gestrichen. Doch die drei Lehrerinnen geben nicht auf – eine Wiener Initiative unterstützt sie dabei und sammelt Spenden. Schau vorbei: Im Kaffeesatz (Gleis 21) sind vom 20. – 28. Juni 2024 Fotos und Geschichten aus der Campschule durub/pathways ausgestellt.

Zu den Musikern / About the Musicians:
Orwa Saleh ist ein syrischer Oud-Spieler und Komponist. Seine Stücke gleichen Gedichten, sind Spiele mit Farben, Formen und Emotionen. Orwa built himself a new home in Austria, sounded by musicians with whom he release his albums: Raheel 2014, The Songs We Still Remember 2019, and The Second Time 2022, participating with windows to the east 2016, winning the integration prize of upper Austria 2015, and performing, composing and cooperating with many projects worldwide.
Danial Moazeni (*Isfahan, Iran) spielt die Tar, ist Vokalist und Komponist. Er spielt Jazz-oriental, und komponiert World Music und Zeitgenössisches. He represents a generation of young migrant musicians in Europe who are changing the sound borders in the music industry and are pushing for more diversity with respect to quality, dialogue, and creativity. His aim is to introduce a new narrative through music in regard to middle eastern cultures and jazz and in doing so he has succeeded to create his complex yet approachable style. As Musician, Vocalist, Composer, and Music Producer he did more than 100 Concerts , Festival and Showcases around the world between 2016 to 2023 and also has worked with many professional Soloists , Bands and Orchestras
Vasco Atanasovski ist ein Saxophonist. Saxophonist and flutist Vasko Atanasovski is one of the most creative and versatile Slovenian composers and musicians, well known for his cross-genre collaborations with world famous jazz, rock, classical, traditional musicians and his masterful approach to all styles of music. Up to this date he has released 15 highly acclaimed albums and earned numerous audience and critics’ compliments for his performances and compositions home and abroad. He is a regular guest on the European festivals and concert circuit and has also performed in India, China, Latin America and New York. His original compositions have also found a way into the world of theatre, dance and puppet shows, repertoires of eminent soloists, orchestras, ensembles and choirs. – Katarina Juvancic
